Description
Turtle Claw
Capsicum chinense
All things considered – flavour, heat, plant size, and yields – this is one of our favourite habaneros. The elongated, knobbly fruit are very hot and have a flavour redolent of lemons. They measure about 9 x 38mm and mature from light green to pastel yellow.
The plants have a compact, bushy growth habit that makes them ideal for growing unsupported in small pots 1 to 5 litres in volume. Despite their size, they are extremely prolific and produce dozens and dozens of fruit throughout the growing season.
Turtle Claw is also known as ‘Finger Naga’ among our Bangladeshi friends and acquaintances, and looks similar to the varieties ‘Aribibi Gusano’ and ‘Caterpillar’ found online and elsewhere.
Heat level: very hot (96,000 SHU)
