Description
Capsicum annuum
A traditional Turkish pepper producing relatively small, blocky fruit that measure about 6 X 6.5cm. As they ripen, the fruit turn from light green to red, at which point the somewhat thin flesh is both sweet and crisp. Traditionally, these peppers are used for stuffing and cooking in the green stage – the stem and central core are easily removed to create the perfect hollow receptacle.
The plants are conveniently short (they are only 40cm tall when grown in 7.5 litre pots) and extremely prolific, capable of producing at least 20 to 25 fruit each.
