Description

Sparkler
(Capsicum annuum)

A very hot chilli producing masses of small, pointed fruit about 3 to 3.5 cm long.  The fruit’s position above the foliage makes it easier to appreciate the memorable show of colours as they ripen from pastel yellow to orange, then red. They are also valuable in the kitchen, where they can be pickled whole; added to stir fries; and employed in Thai cooking whenever prik kii nuu is needed.

Sparkler’s short, compact plants are somewhat late to mature, but have the potential to yield lots of fruit. Well-suited to growing unsupported in pots 1 to 3 litres in size, they are a good choice if you want an edible ornamental for the house of conservatory.

Heat level: very hot (approx. 160,000 SHU)
