Description
Bengle Naga
(Capsicum chinense)
A superhot habanero with a wonderfully distinctive ‘bubblegum’ flavour. Found as an off-type plant in a crop of Bhut Jolokia, it produces fruit that are shaped like elongated cones and measure about 2 x 6cm. They ripen from pale green, to orange, and finally red, reaching heat levels in excess of 900,000 SHU.
The medium tall plants can be grown successfully in the ground or pots 7.5 to 10 litres in size. Since they can be top heavy, give them some support so that they don’t fall over.
Heat level: superhot (approx. 923,000 SHU)
